Integrated Wireless Innovations
Dr. Wisam Farjow, Ph.D., P. Eng.
Dr. Farjow brings more than 25 years of experience in the design and management of complex engineering systems in the fields of underground mines and tunnels communication systems. His designs have been implemented in more than 30 countries around the world.
Dr. Farjow also has the position of Adjunct Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering / Ryerson University in Toronto. Wisam is actively involved in researching advanced technologies and modern theories related to underground mines and tunnels. His work has resulted in the development of severalnovel algorithms and patented systems targeting safer mines and advanced communication systems. Dr. Farjow’s work has been publishedand displayed in many engineering and scientific exhibitions and prestigious conferences.
Wisam has a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ryerson University in Toronto. He is a member of the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers(OSPE), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE), Project Management Institute (PMI), and the association of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the province of Ontario, Canada.
Mr. Leon Kotze, P. Eng.
Vice-President – Engineering
Mr. Kotze currently serves as the VP of Engineering of Integrated Wireless Innovations Inc. (IWI), a global leader in the consultation and design of advanced wireless innovations. Leon brings more than 18 years of experience in underground mining and tunneling sectors to his work at IWI.
His engineering experience in wireless communication systems spans the project life cycle, from concept to final sign-off, and includes aspects such as design, field implementation, troubleshooting and post-sale customer support. Leon has successfully led multiple engineering teams in the global arena to deliver state-of-the-art solutions in multiple countries within Europe, the Middle East, Asia, North America, South America, and Southern Africa.
Leon holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pretoria. He is also a member of the association of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) and is a registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the province of Ontario, Canada.
Mr. Bob Lavergne
Vice President Business Development – IWI Canada
Bob Lavergne Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Planning for IWI has over 30 years experience in the design, supply, manufacturing and implementation of communications systems and other industrial technologies. As a strong believer in a “safer workplace equals a more productive workplace” Bob looks at new innovative ways at using technologies to increase productivities while improving safety in hazardous workplaces.
Graduated at the top of the class in Electronics Engineering Technologies and later in business development, business management and the most recent achievement successfully completed Technical Entrepreneurship from Harvard University online.
His experience in mining allowed him to travel to 18 Countries where he designed, implemented, and managed many projects including communications, location tracking, ventilation control, muck management and automation. This experienced allowed him to create and develop his “brainchild” Mine Tracker, a software product that bridged the gap between multiple technologies and bringing information to surface. This product is still used in many mines around the world today.
